DeWAL Industries, Inc., of Saunderstown, R.I., is a recognized leader in the materials engineering industry. The company has supplied film, tape, and insulation materials to designers of medical, automotive, and scientific products for over 25 years. In a technology initiative, DeWAL began customizing materials used to manufacture filters of superior strength, chemical resistance, and durability. To generate sales leads and enlarge its solid base of customers, the company needed to craft a new message: product designers should be aware of the advantages of using advanced polymer materials in filtration applications.

DeWAL's continuing mission is to show designers ways to explore the uses of new materials that vastly improve filtration quality. The campaign emphasis Parker Group undertook was to educate the market about DeWAL's new product line of expanded polytetrafluorethylene (ePTFE) and its applications. We saw an opportunity to showcase DeWAL's expertise while reaffirming the company's longtime dedication to customer partnerships in creating customized materials. Parker Group produced marketing collateral and wrote news releases about product launches. We wrote bylines for product managers that appeared in design and medical device journals and placed literature ads in overseas trade publications.

Customer response to the campaign was strong, generating a remarkable level of inquiries from companies interested in applying new material strategies to their product designs. Through this campaign, Parker Group helped DeWAL seize a market-expansion opportunity and build on its established market presence.
